Our first afternoon off... what better way to enjoy the sunshine than a trip to Urquhart Castle, a very pleasant 45 minute drive over to the opposite side of the Loch.
Grant Tower at Urquhart Castle is often used as the iconic image to represent Loch Ness (well, apart from the other iconic image... that of Nessie)! The visitor experience is really well done with an audio tour and gift / coffee shop onsite. Even better in glorious sunshine watching the local RNLI team out on training activities.
